Each year, Hanesbrands gives assistance to the Foundation of the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand to work on a community school project. This foundation oversees projects that address community school needs and ensures that the money spent goes 100 percent to support the community need and ensures that the contractors are using quality materials.

In 2008, Hanesbrands asked the Chonburi, Thailand, employees to nominate local schools that needed help to build or improve playgrounds, water tanks, clean water systems, kitchens, libraries, or computer labs. More than 15 employees made formal presentations to an employee committee, which decided to support three different school projects.

During 2008 and 2009, Hanesbrands employees from the Chonburi and Surin facilities helped improve school life for more than 300 elementary school students by building new playgrounds at the Bangwangtakoe and Ban Nong Kong Kaew schools, and by providing a new library and computer lab at the Klongtapetch school. More than 120 Hanesbrands employees volunteered to support these three projects.

In 2010, the Chonburi and Surin facilities plan to support two more local schools.
