We always look for new ways to improve the well-being of our communities and work with our employees and the communities at large to provide help where it is most needed.

Health Fairs

Hanesbrands regularly holds free health fairs for employees and communities around the world providing basic medical care and vaccinations:

  • In Honduras, more than 5,000 men, women and children received various types of free medical, dental, and vision care at five different health fairs organized by Hanesbrands employees in 2009.
  • In El Salvador, nearly 1,000 men, women and children received various types of free medical and vision care at two different health fairs organized by Hanesbrands employees in 2009.
  • In 2009, Hanesbrands Dos Rios Textiles organized a health fair in Las Palmas, Bonao, Dominican Republic, which provided care to more than 500 children.
  • The Hanesbrands Hung Yen facility in Vietnam held a family health day for its employees and their families in February 2009. More than 300 of our employees’ children received free medical examinations. In December 2009, our Phu Bai, Vietnam, facility organized a health fair benefitting nearly 400 people in the local Huong Thuy District.

Emergency Care

Hanesbrands also helps with one of the most basic and life-saving needs – ambulance rehabilitation. We helped to significantly repair an ambulance at Hospital Pedro de Marchena, the only public hospital in Bonao, Dominican Republic, and we are also refurbishing a currently inoperable ambulance for the hospital system in San Juan Opico, El Salvador.

Breast Cancer Awareness

Hanesbrands also helps advance breast cancer awareness and research by supporting Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and Pink Ribbon races in the United States, Canada and Japan.
