Facilities Management

Hanesbrands aims to ensure that employees, and those employed by our independent contractors, work in quality facilities. All facilities are required to provide clean and safe workplaces that operate consistently with internationally recognized standards.
Social Compliance Ensures Quality Work Experiences
Ensuring that our facilities meet the highest standards is best achieved by holding ourselves accountable to rigorous and established third-party requirements. There are three components of our social compliance platform that assure that our products are produced in facilities with decent, legal and ethical working conditions:
-
All Hanesbrands-owned facilities outside the United States are certified by the Worldwide Responsible Accreditation Program (WRAP). Finished goods contractors who produce 30 percent or more of their total capacity for Hanesbrands and with whom we have a business relationship for 2 years or longer are also WRAP certified. To become certified, a facility must conduct an in-depth, four to six month self-assessment and then submit to a thorough independent audit. Once certified, a facility is subject to unannounced audits at any time.
- In 2008, we also joined the Fair Labor Association (FLA) as a participating company. We are nearing the end of a two-year accreditation process that, once completed, will lead to full FLA membership. We believe this is a key component to our overall compliance program.
- The Hanesbrands Global Standards for Suppliers (GSS) provide strong and auditable standards for all facilities that manufacture products for us and provide the cornerstone of our comprehensive auditing program. (View a full copy of the GSS code.)
